If you have ThinkPad running Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, the battery reset procedure is pretty straight forward (you must have the ThinkVantage Power Manager installed). ThinkPad Battery Reset for Windows 8 isn’t very straight forward, and you have to do it manually, which i will talk about later in the article.
Couple of my new ThinkPads have recently suffered some quality issues with the Lenovo logo located on the ThinkPad lid. Basically the ‘e’ on the Lenovo logo would come off, or gets damaged as it detaches from the underlying plastic base layer. This is both unsightly and can cause minor injuries in some cases, which i personally experienced and there have been others in the same boat (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/Cut-myself-on-a-T420i/m-p/1074957#M77166).
Note: This is the method you use for Intel GPU equipped ThinkPad on Windows 7, if you have Nvidia Optimus enabled ThinkPad, then you have to use a different method.
While the ThinkPad W520 and W530 can not be fully powered with the ThinkPad 65 watts and 90 watts adapter, you can still use these power adapters to charge the battery of the ThinkPad w520 and W530 when they are powered off.
If your ThinkPad X220t and ThinkPad X230t have screen backlight bleeding problem and you can’t live with it, then you would need to get the screen replaced.
