I have done some CPU and GPU stress tests on my ThinkPad W530 to test how well the thermal management system removes the heat, when the CPU and GPU are both under 100% load for a prolonged period of time. The thermal management stress tests that i did were conducted using Prime95 and Furmark on all three graphics mode:
The ThinkPad Tablet 2 supports 5 fingers touch (or more precisely five touch points), same as the ThinkPad Edge Twist. Microsoft requires any tablet device that supports Windows 8 to have a minimum of 5 fingers touch support.
If you do not like the Wacom pen that comes with your ThinkPad Tablet 2, you can use the Wacom pen that came with the ThinkPad X series tablet (X60, X61t, X200t, X201t, X220t, and X230t). The larger Wacom pen from the ThinkPad X series Tablet is not only easier to grip, it is also more precise then the small Wacom pen that comes with the TPT2.
If you got the ThinkPad Tablet 2, and you are wondering how fast your internal storage is, well the answer is probably going to disappoint you. The internal storage used in the ThinkPad Tablet 2 isn’t very fast at all, it has similar read performance (writing speed is equivalent to an old 5 years old hdd) to the platter hdd used in most of the ThinkPad laptop. So if you are expecting blistering quick SATAIII SSD grade performance from your ThinkPad Tablet 2 internal storage then you will be disappointed. But unless you are constantly writing and reading from your TPT2 internal storage, then you wouldn’t need to worry about the storage speed issue on your TPT2.
If you are like me whom is using the ThinkPad Tablet 2 everyday, then most likely you may have been frustrated by the slow charging speed of the TPT2 battery when it is completely switched off, which usually takes around 8 hours to fully charge the battery from 5% to around 95%. So what do you do?
I have made a compatibility matrix table to show you the intercompatibility of keyboards between the different Lenovo X series (starting from ThinkPad X60).
Currently all ThinkPads with mSATA slot utilises the SATAII 3.0 G/s specification, regardless of the main hdd SATA specification, or if your mSATA drive is SATAIII capable. The following benchmark illustrates this point, i put a SATAIII capable mSATA into the T430u’s mSATA slot, which is only SATAII capable, and the benchmark shows that the mSATA in the ThinkPad mSATA slot is only SATAII capable.
If you are wondering whether why your ThinkPad T530 and T530i doesn’t have the AMT options in the BIOS menu, it may pay to check whether your motherboard ships from factory with the AMT. Some ThinkPad T530 and ThinkPad T530i came with motherboard that do not have AMT and/or TPM.
If you have ThinkPad W530, T530, T430, T430s, X230, X230t, you can interchange your non-backlit keyboard with the backlit version of the keyboard in your preferred language format.
