When you close the lid of your newly shipped ThinkPad and IdeaPad or laptop in general, it would go into sleep, much like an Apple laptops. While with Apple laptop you can’t switch off this feature from within the OSX (i.e. have to use Insomnia), this is not the case with the Windows laptop, so i am going to show you how.
If you are the type of person whom owns many ThinkPads like me, you would have countless traditional Lenovo ThinkPad ‘barrel’ type power adapter. So if you are in the position of buying the X1 Carbon, non of your ThinkPad power adapter could be used, which is a great waste of available resources (ahem…).
Typically you only connect one screen to one displayport output connector on your ThinkPad or ThinkCentre, but in reality each displayport is capable of supporting several displays at once if they are within a certain resolution range.
So one of those people whom still have their ThinkPad X301 and want to use the onboard displayport for connecting to LCD greater than single link DVI resolution (i.e. 1920x1200).
